How to mix prints without losing the outfit
The strongest print combinations are not necessarily the loudest. Start by finding one shared colour, then vary the scale. A large Ankara motif can sit beside a smaller check or stripe when the palette gives the eye somewhere to rest.
Use the 70–30 rule
Let one print control roughly seventy per cent of the look. Use the second as an accent through a sleeve, panel, scarf, bag or aso oke detail. This keeps the outfit intentional rather than accidental.
Give the prints a neutral frame
Black, ivory, navy, denim or a warm skin-tone neutral can separate two energetic fabrics. The neutral does not weaken the outfit; it gives the print more authority.
